The stamping parts are mainly formed by stamping and stamping metal or non-metal sheets by means of the pressure of the press. However, in the process of stamping, there are more and more problems, but do you know the reasons for these defects? How to prevent these stamping parts from being shortcoming? What are the shortcomings of stamping parts? How to solve these defects in stamping parts?

The content list of the article:

Causes of defects in stamping parts

Measures to prevent defects in stamping parts

Typical stamping parts defects and solutions

Causes of defects in stamping parts

Inferior quality of raw materials (material composition, mechanical properties, geometric dimensions, surface quality);

Improper installation and use of the die;

The operator did not correctly feed the strip along the positioning or did not ensure that the strip was fed at a certain gap;

Due to long-term use, the die has a gap change or wear of its own working parts and guiding parts;

The dies are relatively loose due to the impact vibration time, and the relative positions of the dies are relatively changed;

The operator's negligence did not operate according to the operating procedures.

Measures to prevent defects in stamping parts

Raw materials must meet the specified technical conditions;

Strictly comply with the requirements of all aspects specified in the process specification;

The press, mould and other working equipment used should be guaranteed to work under normal working conditions.

The first part of the stamping parts must be thoroughly inspected. Only through inspection can the product be put into production and inspection should be strengthened. When problems occur, deal with them promptly;

During the stamping process, the mold cavity should be cleaned, and the workpieces that have been placed in the workplace should be placed neatly.

Typical stamping parts defects and solutions

Stamping parts burr is too large

The punching gap is too large, too small or uneven;

The cutting edge of the working part of the die becomes dull;

The convex and concave molds change the center line due to long-term vibration shock, and the axes do not coincide, resulting in single-sided burrs.

Ensure machining accuracy and assembly quality of punch and die, ensure that the punch vertical and withstand side pressure and the whole die should have enough rigidity;

In the installation of punch must ensure that the correct gap between the concave and convex die and make the concave and convex die on the fixed plate of the die is not financial installed, the end face of the upper and lower die should be parallel to the Press table.

The press is required to have good rigidity, small elastic deformation, high precision of the track and the parallelism between the backing plate and the slider;

Pressure machines are required to have sufficient blanking force.

Stamping parts produce warpage

There is a gap force and a reaction force that do not generate a torque on a line.

The clearance gap should be chosen reasonably;

In the mold structure, the pressure plate (or pallet) plate should be increased in plane contact with the pressure plate and have a certain pressure;

Check the die edge If the reverse taper is found, the die edge must be trimmed properly.

For example, because the shape of the blanking part is complicated and the shearing force is uneven, the pressing force is increased to increase the pressing force, and the strip is pressed before punching or punched with a high-precision press.

The enamel sheet should be leveled before punching. If the warpage is still not eliminated, the punched workpiece can be leveled again through the leveling die.

Regularly remove the dirt in the mold cavity, lubricate the surface of the thin sheet material, and provide oil and gas holes in the mold structure.

Offset of the Stamping parts during bending

When the blank slides along the surface of the die during bending, it will be subjected to frictional resistance. If the frictional resistance between the two sides of the blank is large, the blank will be offset to the side with greater frictional resistance.

Shaped asymmetrical curved parts, adopting symmetrical bending forming (single-sided bending parts are cut by two pieces of symmetrical bending and then cut)

Add an elastic pressing device to the bending mold so that it can fully press the blank during bending to prevent movement.

The inner hole and shape positioning form make it accurate.

The wall of the tensile member is cracked

The radial tensile stress of the material when it is deepened is too large;

The die radius is too small,

Draw poor lubrication;

The plasticity of raw materials is poor.

Reduce the blank holder force;

Increase the radius of the die corner

Use lubricant properly

Choose a better material or increase the annealing process.

After all, everyone is not perfect, and so is the thing. Therefore, some problems will definitely occur when stamping parts are stamped. But we can prevent these problems to reduce the number of problems and how to solve them when problems arise. I hope this article will be helpful to you.
