However, things are changing. As the oldest Baby Boomers are retiring and a new generation of employees is joining the metal fabrication field, they may have to learn as much as they can from shop floor veterans before they finally quit. Unfortunately, the industrial technology curriculum that helped shape a generation of tinkerers and gearboxes simply doesn't exist today.
